Life is a Journey // Not a Destination

In the darkness something was happening at last.  A voice had begun to sing.”

Life is a Journey // Not a Destination
Putting Illuman’s Five Touchstones
to Work in Our Lives

-An Overnight Retreat-
Lawrence Lodge at De Sales Center
Brooklyn, Michigan

In our lives we often awaken to the question “What does all this mean?” and “Have I really mattered?”  This retreat will look at five words that stand in the place of such a lifelong search: Gather, Connect, Center, Release and Serve.  The larger international men’s group called Illuman, to which IN/MI MALES belongs as a chapter, sees these five words as touchstones for authentic male spirituality.

What Will I Learn?

This retreat will give us hints as to what this enduring journey might look like through reflection, small and large group sharing, ritual and time together in mutual support.  It may give affirmation to where you are right now and challenge you to move on.  It may call you to more profound ways of seeing life and relationship and challenge male stereotypes that trap us.  It is an opportunity to gather and connect so that we do matter and life is better for our having lived it.
