Join Indiana-Michigan M.A.L.E.s for a retreat focused on deeply listening to and communicating with ourselves and others. NVC is not only an amazing tool for dealing with conflict, it also provides a map and strategy for deep connection with and compassion for other people. In this retreat we’ll use NVC to first listen in to our own bodies and emotions, and then practice both listening to and being heard by other men at the retreat. It sounds simple, but it is really powerful stuff!

Along with learning NVC, we’ll spend intentional time participating in The Way of Council which is a fundamental practice of Illuman. We use this deep listening and sharing practice at all our retreats, but we want to explore and learn it better alongside you good men.

“I have never met a person whose greatest need was anything other than real, unconditional love. You can find it in a simple act of kindness toward someone who needs help. There is no mistaking love. You feel it in your heart. It is the common fiber of life, the flame that heals our soul, energizes our spirit and supplies passion to our lives. It is our connection to God and to each other.” — Elizabeth Kugler-Ross
